It was so great. One of the best books I've read this year. I haven't read up on any of the details about the writing process, though I was definitely curious throughout. I try to go into our book discussions blind.

I've read all of the Dark Tower (and just named my home Wifi network "Gilead," because I'm a huge nerd), but was in the middle of some other long series when I got Wind in the Keyhole. I picked it up, got like 30 pages in, and put it down for about a year. I just started the titular section of the story and am finding

We actually haven't met to discuss it yet, despite the fact that we ripped through it. We have something of an unwritten rule that we don't discuss until we're all gathered. The official name of the group is "Bourbon and Books," and we read "macho" books by men about men stuff and sit around and drink bourbon. In

I finished The Orphan Master's Son (or, as the lovable scamps in my book club call it, The Orphan's Massive Son), John Green's The Fault in Our Stars (leading a discussion with some teenagers about it tomorrow), and finally reading Stephen King's The Wind through the Keyhole. All three are quite good, though the

Michael Grant is a pretty dark dude. He's a huge fan of Stephen King (his Gone series is an homage, and there are similarities between it and Under the Dome), and I bet it was his influence that pushed the darker story lines.

There were loads of punches to the temple, too. I had no clue what a "temple" was.

Ew?

Went to college in that area and saw the story on the local (Philly) news. I'm sorry that your friend was on of the victims, but I'm thankful there was a Bernie in there. Add my hug to the collection of random dudes who respect him.

* Philly says "Thanks!"

Is that clip her audition for Nip/Tuck?

Same. That movie struck a chord with me when I was a mere Teenager Alaska.

Just saw these guys live for the first time over the weekend. I'd heard their bigger songs and liked them fine, but was really impressed by the live show. Sure, the Folk Jesus thing is cheesy, but they had a great time playing, are very good musicians, and actually seemed to sincerely connect with the audience. At the

I've become a fan of Scovel. Heard him here and there on a few podcasts, thought he was amusing, then saw him live in San Fran about a month ago and he killed. Now I definitely seek him out.

Two words: pizza throw.

Same!

Someone outta give him a plaque for the fine work he did as Tim Whatley.

His name is Gomie.

I'll take that into consideration, @avclub-0f0d67e214f9fef69b278e3d08114da9:disqus. Perhaps I should just create a second account with Walter and Perry's sides reversed and always reply to myself?

They prefer the term "ghostress."
