The nostalgia is doing its job here, I suppose. I recognized most of the shows, among them Bionic Six and BraveStarr, but for the life of me, I can't place that guy in the trench coat and sunglasses at 1:15. It's most definitely a trend, like westerns or sword and sandal epics. I agree though, that super heroes won't go away completely.
