"Compared to them, he's a choirboy"

Maybe is a cultural taboo because children are meant to outlive their parents, so to name it is to name an unspeakable pain…or something.

Yeah, I thought that was worth noting!

Fuck, it's like that fucker Republibot! He really got my fucking goat…

The fianl scene did leave me wondering what his next move will be. I agree with your reading of his 'tragic flaw'; the man who's used to always winning is the one who finds out he's the worst at losing.

It rang a few bells alright.

Yeah, nice work…

Yeah, I didn't think it was too controversial to object to thread-jacking link tossers… They're the AV Club board equivalents of that guy in the pub who turns any conversation, no matter hoe unrelated, back to his theory on 9/11, or Jackos "murder" or just his fucking i-Phone…

Sprakking.

Well, like I said, the big screen thing is a personal beef. But when we're capable of creating holobands and easily usable space travel and cybernetic life and so on, I personally doubt that billboards as we know them will even exist, let alone just be bigger versions than the ones we have now.

By the by, I hope Trixie doesn't have an affair with Vergis… I like her relationship with Daniel; it's complex and has an authentic feel to it. Messing it up just to create dramatic tension would be a shame.

It's just that it strikes me so much as weak extrapolation. We have big TV screens blaring ads at us…so in the future (or the advanced past)…they'll probably have… BIGGER TV SCREENS!

Fair play to you then!

That phrase - "The novel would've been better served by a little less ambition" - can unfortunately be applied to so many writers, and so many books.

Goddam…and there I was trying to be serious…

Welcome back Noel…
I really enjoyed this episode, which isn't much of a surprise I suppose, as I seem to have totally bought into Caprica. I don't think it was showing the strain of moving the pieces about too much at all. The characterisation and acting chops of almost all involved sees to that. And as the show

Nah you didn't. Tomas came to Caprica on a spaceship, and he probably picked up the recipe from the stewardess…

I agree with the second point - that what this lacked in nuance / subtlety it more than made up for in plot progression and the needling of conflict - but I'm on the other page with your complaints about the first four episodes.

Look, maybe you're a nice guy and all, and who knows, that old blog of yours may just be spiffing, but I don't come to the AV Club to follow links to other blogs.

Yeah…what ScubaDew said.
