It is fucking excellent. Showed on channel four. I have no idea how it will be as a cinematic experience, but as TV it was untouchable, and proved the UK can still make original, compelling TV drama when they put their minds to it.

"I'd think Cornwall would be a better fit, what with the faux-independence and incest."
So far, so good Rowan. Admittedly, that's the pilot and episode one, but I like them!
Done and done.
I saw Rome Open City in a lecture hall, on VHS. Really didn't help my appreciation of it, admittedly, but I still found it overbearing, shrill and so melodramatic it hurt.
yes.
That'd be nice…reminds me, I better go watch episode two…
"BSG, featuring Caprika Sixx and L'il Hera"
No doubt I will… I'll probably end up loving it, and come cap in hand expressing regret…
Christ, I actually watched an episode of Castle the other day… Why was there constant, unremitting, plinky-plonky muzak drowning out every word?
I was semi drunk when I wrote the last one…not that it's important, but it's actually 21 days.
"The Operative had been mentored by Book, who became Firefly's secret weapon in countering him. At which point Book is suddenly and shockingly killed off, Gandalf/Merlin/Obi-Wan style, forcing the crew to deal with the Operative on their own."
Rowan, your ideas for series two and onwards are of course well thought out and feasible, and I'm not saying they're un-doable…just that I wouldn't want to see Book be brought down that route, and that I don't think Wheden was going to.
Haven't hit the B5 yet, but only because Play managed to lose my boxset in the post! I contacted them, and they say I'll have to wait till 10 days after the supposed delivary date before they'll look into it…the heroes.
Come on Rowan. Book wasn't to go evil! His past would have caught up with him somehow, and had ramifications, but I just can't see how he would / could return to his previous lifestyle. That's assuming, of course, that he did something along the lines of Operative work.
Cheers Rowan. We may not always have seen totally eye to eye on aspects of the show, but always good to chew over issues with you. And as always Alurin, been a pleasure chatting things over with you too!
And I don't see anything beyond a superficial resemblance between the characters.
Hey, I aint saying this scenario couldn't play out; who the fuck can really predict what goes on in the fevered minds of the 24 writing staff? All I'm saying is….it better not.
And then the assassin pulled his gun and advanced on the damaged car because…he wanted to make sure Hassan was okay?
Saint Larry Moss was indeed killed. I just have a problem accepting it. And not did Tony come back from the dead, so did Jack. So 24 and death aren't always on logical terms.
