The 'sell-out' tag doesnt seem so much a matter of playing big, corporat-sponsored gigs, but that Weezer dumbed down everything about their lyrics and sound to better fit the tastes of a mainstream audience.
The difference between this and Alternative Nation is that Hyden clearly cares a lot about that music, and maybe enough time has passed to have an interesting perspective and something fresh to say.
