@avclub-8890e84fa8244fb6b45175bda383cd93:disqus Thank you, sir. I don't want to harp on them, but when you play genres like post-hardcore and emo, which can have very different and awful meanings, it makes it incredibly difficult to market your show and have anyone who's not already a fan dismiss it.

I guess maybe there are some folks in their 50s+ and some kids in their teens that don't know post-hardcore…I just really want those shitty bands to stop using it. I do a post-hardcore/math rock/noise rock radio show and my station also has a post-punk show, but we play very different things. I'm fighting to share

I notice that recent news about this era of bands, like the reunion and new EP from Girls Against Boys and this new Shellac LP, is referring to them as post-punk. I know it generally applies and that post-hardcore is now associated with garbage like A Day To Remember… but can we all please work to reclaim the

I'm worried that Elizabeth's blood is in the car.

woohoo!

sexist philistine!

Meee. Waiting for my Party Down movie kickstarter now.

I think anyone who donated more than a dollar is getting something out of it. Most of the backer rewards were well worth the price and most of them include either a digital version of the film or the DVD/blu-ray pack. The movie wasn't going to be made otherwise. I'd rather pay upfront for a project I want, rather than

I didn't hate Laura Palmer but she wasn't likeable. and Yeah, I hated FWWM. I consider that my expectations of having some closure to the series may color my feelings.

What are they going to do with the extra 3.7 million? Well a large chunk of change will go to Kickstarter and to Amazon for payment transfers. Then I'm sure a good bit will go towards the backer rewards (shirts, DVDs/blu-ray, posters, etc) and shipping. Even 5.7 million is a small amount of money for a film… but alas,

People who listen to underground music have had like 20 years to catch up on this great scene of music. I had to dig for it before Pandora and Spotify existed. I think if you listen to underground music and you've never heard of math rock, you've been living under a rock. Or maybe you only read Pitchfork new album

@avclub-8890e84fa8244fb6b45175bda383cd93:disqus It totally is my show and thanks. You should tune in. We stream online from the station's main site www.wras.org (click Listen Live on the top left corner) or through the TuneIn app, just search WRAS Album 88. I need to have them update that show slot to say Manic

Bah, having to reply to myself.

Owls is newer, more mathy, and much more polished. Tim Kinsella brings familiar yet cleaner vocals.

Yeah, obscure in that way that every band is obscure when they just form. This band is new. The bands the members were in before are not obscure, they are incredibly influential.

Houdini is pretty fucking amazing. I'd put it as my favorite. Which do you think is their best?

Damn, I knew I had seen the name Into It. Over It. somewhere. They've been touring with Texas Is The Reason. I really regret not going to that show. I guess I'll check these guys out now.

Yeah, and only since the 90s.

You say this like the two are not closely related.
