@avclub-0da7b2945e9148fed0a61ba72bfb017e:disqus I'm aware of the pattern, it's just not with this show. The whole evil lesbian "trope" (which isn't on tvtropes btw) was common
during the HAYS CODE. Yeah, a good many years ago. I can't even think
of many "evil" lesbians in the media today. I can think of far more good

I agree that it is not always intentional and that LGBT people can also be homophobic. I also wasn't asking you to apologize. I just don't think it's that big of a deal. The characters were both established as being evil/amoral/insane/whatever before they become lovers.I've seen no other signs of homophobia within

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Eric Charmelo is gay. I doubt this was an intentional perpetuation of stereotypes. I think the writers were just trying to add "shocking" twists. Not all of the bad people in the show are homosexual. I really don't think it is trying to send a message that homosexuality/bisexuality

If you weren't already compelled by curiosity to keep watching, I wouldn't worry about it.

I think Machado had Olivia lure Catherine there for the same reason that Andrew and Siobhan didn't ask for help when the agents were at the apartment. Catherine would be more likely to shoot someone, either out of nervousness or desperation, during a surprise attack. At least when waiting for Catherine with Olivia,

Marissa

I'm glad these guys are on the AV Club's radar. They are really fucking badass live. I first saw them open for Ted Leo a couple years ago and they blew me away. I've seen 'em several times since. Gotta get this new album onto my radio station pronto.

I'd go with the former. Your relative likely thinks you have good taste and would appreciate an inside look on how these guys rape Hollywood for cash while still participating in worthwhile television and film.

Oh right. I love AV Club for so many reasons. <3

Can we get a "why DO you like this?" for The Big Bang Theory?

Your surprise has merit. 30 seconds? Wow your experience is credible.

Not technically but I don't think anyone is TOO worried about them having deformed babies. It's creepy because they've always known each other as brother and sister. It's not like Greg and Marcia… and that was still a little creepy.

only slightly more interesting? come the fuck on. homeland blows dexter out of the garbage bag-filled water.

Probably not. Ant-man wouldn't be his first choice.

I didn't say he was a genius. I said he doesn't make terrible shit. I do think he is a talented writer and a favorite of mine… but yeah, his stuff is great but flawed.

I try not to watch a lot of trailers.. but sometimes they are intentionally misleading or not for a more discerning audience. I remember how many people said that Funny People was an awful movie because the trailer made it look more like a typical Adam Sandler or Apatow comedy and people didn't know what to do with

This is going to be amazing. I think the trailers look okay, but also with Whedon behind the helm.. it can't be terrible. It just can't. Besides, since when do trailers always accurately represent the movie? They are made to appeal to teenage boys. Whedon has higher standards than that. This movie has a larger fanbase

Your name is appropriate.

This is a horrible show and I can't understand why I keep watching. Damn you SMG for being so amazing.

It starts a little slow, with all of the characters to introduce and all.. but it's a really fucking awesome show. Give it another chance. It's well-written, dark, and beautifully done.
