Vidal's book = delightfully scandalous! Gordon Wood's smart not to PO a bunch of Gore Vidal fans. Wood's an excellent historian & alas knows that fiction/Vidal is read by 10 times as many people as nonfiction. other good nonfiction burr books by nancy isenberg & david o. stewart.
