adjectives modify nouns, like "we". adverbs modify most other things, like "to act". the "ly" doesn't make a difference in this case; it can be used as either, depending on the context.

NOT FRAMING
dexter wasn't trying to frame that copycat for his (dexter's) murders, he was just planting evidence so he would go to jail for the murder he (the copycat) almost committed, so miami wouldn't be flooded with feds. that was my understanding, anyway.
