I'd say Newman's performance in "The Verdict" is the equal to just about anything DeNiro's done.

Are you talking about bath salts guy? I don't know, his stomach was pretty flat, and you could bounce quarters off that guy's ass. I've never taken drugs in my life and I'm a fat slob (unless you count Oreos as drugs).

Terriers was an amazingly good show and I loved it dearly, but if I were FX I would have canceled it too based on the numbers it drew, which were beyond atrocious.

Another plus for FX is that the little "bug" icon they use in the lower right corner of the screen is really unobtrusive and doesn't distract me from the show.

My goal is to be bloated and varicose veiny when I hit 50, as God intended.

80s vigilante humor!

My only complaint about this episode is that it bugged me they never explained what happened to Linder after Gustavo found him burying his guy in the desert.

Well, it looks like my theory that Fat Cop is the killer just got its face blown off.

My first kiss was in a play, where our characters kissed. Pretty humiliating when I think of it.

My dad is a hard-charging, Type-A executive type who likes to order everyone around (especially when he was younger, he's mellowed considerably now but still likes to tell everyone what they should be doing).

I'm surprised a 14 year old could actually get his legs through the holes in a diaper made for toddlers. Dude must have some skinny-ass legs. I mean, I can barely get one foot through … and now I've said too much.

"Like China" is not Phil at his best, but "I Don't Care Anymore", "Do You Know, Do You Care?", "The West Side", and "Why Can't It Wait 'Til Morning" are all solid.

All right, you make a good point in terms of technology.

Sampling is an innovation?

I was hoping someone would mention Script For A Jester's Tear. A major statement from what would become one of the few commercially successful prog bands in the 80s and 90s (well, in Europe, in any case).

Yeah, does anyone NOT think Vogel is the Brain Surgeon by now?

I'd rather watch an "F" episode, at least that has the promise of being entertainingly awful.

Kenneth Johnson, who played Lem on The Shield.

Featuring John Cusack as Richard Nixon.

Yeah, that was a bizarre example. Burn After Reading got pretty good reviews and I thought it was generally well-liked. No, it's not a classic like Miller's Crossing, but few movies are.
