Well, hello, Mr. Fancypants.

Um, that wasn't Taylor Rain.

I find myself in the odd situation of wishing I had posted ZMF's comment. I agree entirely, although I wouldn't have used the past tense to describe Point Break's ownage.

Come on, thizzy, where's the You Tube link?

It's tough to get enough acid, Carl. I recommend chopping the body up and then either: barbecuing it and serving it to a large group of people, preferably including the investigators; or dropping each part into a different body of water containing carnivorous fish.

It's blue-shifted because it's coming towards us. It's the opposite of the red-shift you see in stars that are moving away.

Whatmovie doesn't need that?

This is a public service announcement . . . with guitar!

@ Jennn: I never bitch at the cashier who carded me. I know that person is just following orders. I think the orders are stupid, and are symptomatic of the triumph of rules over common sense and judgment. I also think a 21 drinking age is stupid.

Depends on where you live, Frito. I still get carded sometimes, and it's not because I look so young. It's because some jackass told the idiot at the cash register to card everyone. Grey hair and glasses, folks, I really can drink legally (thank God).

@ AJR, the Bummy is someone Flashman went to prep school with, and yes, also a monster that goes around sodomizing people.

Frito, I thought World War Z was top notch entertainment. I loved the oral history format (kind of like Pahlaniuk's Rant), and I found the various narratives highly plausible and totally compelling. Definitely a welcome new approach to zombies.

Love Hot Fuzz. Timothy Dalton is brilliant: "I'm a slasher. I must be stopped. . . . A slasher of prices . . . my discounts are criminal."

The Fifth Element is great; it's just a really fun movie to watch.

Fair enough, Geddy. I pointed out the distinction and then ignored it. Though I'll maintain that Island of Dr. Moreau shitfest should stay on the worst side of the divide for awful acting, direction, production design, lighting, etc., etc.

Nice Douglas Adams reference, Leper. I often call something an "SEP" and people always look at me like I'm nuts.

Geddy Lee brings up an interesting distinction: worst v. most hated.

Concur on the love for A Scanner Darkly. This film resides in my DVD collection, and I have to really like a film to get the DVD.

Yeah, I'm adding it to my "signs of the apocalypse" bookmarks folder. On the plus side, Amelie threw out a nice Yeats reference.
