I read too much about films on the internet to be seriously surprised by their content.

You can't really show that kind of slow-zombie apocalypse in detail, because that would just demonstrate how implausible the whole concept is.
Day one: zombies attack people.
Day two: thanks to modern communications, everyone now knows how to kill zombies, and how it spreads. Everyone locks themselves indoors; anyone

What were the audience expecting? I know it only as a legendarily bad thing where they had to fill out hours of content cheaply. Were people at the time anticipating something along the lines of Empire Strikes Back?

There is a mouse in Of Mice and Men, Lenny's dead pet.

It's the next step in abandoning written language. Rather than having to go through the hassle of choosing and arranging words to express concepts and emotions, you can send randomly suggested miniature animations that suggest the same thing, are more amusing, and don't discriminate against illiterates.

Method acting, in preparation for his role as noted germaphobe Howard Hughes?

I'd rate "Paul McCartney is dead" as a slightly dumber conspiracy theory that attracted a wide following. At least this one has a vaguely plausible motive.

Yeah? Prove it. We voted to reduce immigration even if it ruins our economy. You have yet to do the same.

The difference between a "cap" and "unlimited" was that in "unlimited" the cap level was secret and you didn't have a clue it was going to happen until they suddenly throttled you. A bit like my victims, back in my strangling days.

I kind of liked that all the guns in that Spider-Man cartoon were energy weapons. I mean, we're in a world full of super-scientists; isn't it realistic that someone (Tony Stark, Reed Richards…) would come up with an effective stun gun design and supply them to the police?

I miss Community. Please name these "other shows".

The other half is shooting people!

The word 'literally' is rarely used literally these days. Mostly it's a used as a metaphor for 'decisively'.

The world's collective ass is in Adrian, Michigan. You should go and see it. Don't kick it, though. That's just rude.

The Narnia cinematic principle: lots of violent killing, no blood.

I'll run it through the Puzzle-Computer…

So religions start out ironic?

You can live for, like, a month with no food. I find the fact he didn't die of hunger less impressive than the fact he was able to get through a third of a tube of mayo in a single day.

I'm not sure I get that "Life is like an elevator" quote.

Horror movie sequels where they try to copy the original - let's have the alien/robot/slasher kill a bunch of sexy teens! Again! - don't work too well either. The bad guy stops being a figure of terror and turns into a meme. I'd rather have a horror sequel that's funny (Evil Dead 2) or a good action movie (Aliens)
