Hang in there, Louise

There's honour in the struggle, though.

Mate (Australian here, too), my fucking housemate came out of her room last month and kicked up a massive stink about this show when the trailer came out, saying shit like "How do they think this is gonna make anything better?" and "It's pretty much racist."

There's a very stereotypical vibe of this country being full of "friendly Aussies" that doesn't always work out in practice, so I'm glad that was your overall experience.

In Australia, we call it a "hand flappy".

……..were you one of the people I met at the party?

You heard of Fosters? It's mostly all gone now.

As long as you're not shocked by the fact that a guy in his early 20s who frequents the A.V. Club still lives with his parents.

Incidentally, I told the one, pretty lazy joke I know about Florida ("Florida: the penis of America!") and not only had they never heard it, they honestly didn't seem to think their state is penis-shaped.

Oh, dude, I don't take it personally, it's just crazy for me to hear that you've been exposed to our abhorrent, specific brand of racism, to the extent that you've heard the term "Abo". Makes me pretty sad.

Oh God, nooooooooo.

But… but you guuuuuys.

As long as they're not trying to smuggle in Johnny Depp disguised as a scarf-covered, gypsy tote bag, most everyone is welcome.

This is wildly off-topic but I need to share this somewhere:

It's weird to think of now, but I genuinely don't go to the cinema anymore and have only been maybe two dozen times in my life, so by default it's definitely the worst and must've just been too much for some of the people who were also there.
Also, weirdly, the only other thing I've been at where people walked out was

Must Love Dogs.

Goddammit. For me, The Knick was the most criminally underrated show of the decade.
The way it developed a community around the Knickerbocker that functioned as nothing less than a messy, multi-faceted organism unto itself made it an early-20th iteration of Deadwood, which is my favourite show.
Not to mention, the

"Hey, that guy looks familiar…"
"Bob, that's Teddy."
"Hi Bob."

I mean, I'm not really familiar with this "Kurt Braunohler" or his background, but is there a chance maybe he was, y'know… joking?

There must be some kind of mistake: it seems 'Mulaney' was included on this list instead of "List of Ground-Breaking Sitcoms that Changed the Face of Television Forever."
