My least favorite episodes of the series' run. I think the themes it meditates on play out better later in the season than in this episode. But more than that, I thought the group acted like idiots in this episode. When they went back in time and stopped Milk Guy by presumably killing him or at least knocking him out,

I love Marvel, but I've never been a huge X-Men reader expect for trades of the original comics. I've read a bit of the Scarlet Witch stuff that happened before Schism, but I knew practically nothing about what was going on before starting Uncanny X-Force and it's been amazing to me all year. Same goes for Wolverine

I really love Swamp Thing a lot — it'd probably be #11 on my list, but I agree with @avclub-61e626641b507015d1d403d2ecdd02fb:disqus . Snyder is really delivering a lot with Batman right now.

There's some really, really fantastic writing going on in USM. I love Miles' family dynamic and it's a nice contrast to Peter Parker's, while also still ushering in the whole "with great powers" stuff.

Agree pretty much with the entire list, though Wonder Woman would've inched onto my Top 10, I've also not read Conquerors, so that'd be absent as well. I'd probably stick Sweet Tooth into my Top 10 as well.

I am starting 11/22/63 this week after trying to read The Marriage Plot for a month. I just really couldn't get into it. I could see exactly where the story was going and it seemed like reading a thesis paper on marriage plot novels, and a rather full of itself one at that.

I discovered Elvis Costello earlier this year and My Aim is True quickly became one of my favorite albums. I discovered it because I just got into Bret Easton Ellis this year too, so I listened to the song Less Than Zero which took me into all of Costello's discography.

I stopped watching Psych last season for a bit, but I'm glad I got back into it, it's definitely the epitome of a hangout show. It's just fun and easy to watch.

I wonder when AMC is going to abandon this model and try what HBO does, trying to air good shows obviously, but to a wider audience. I'm waiting for the day they air a pedigree show specifically for women, for instance.

It's also inaccurate to say women writing sci-fi aren't invested in the genre, as if writers on TV get passed around from show to show.

The majority of my problem with some of these shows is the fact that they act like they're pedigree drama. I mean, there's a reason why shows like Mad Men, Breaking Bad, etc. get a lot of accolades. Because they're damn good. There's also a reason Lost got a lot of accolades, because it was fun, and it was ambitious

No, this was the finale. Sorry I worded that wrong — I wish next week WERE the finale, after the awesome promo of Tyler confronting everyone on the beach.

I mentioned that a few weeks ago, not sure if anyone else did, but I now know that we won't be reaching the pilot until episode 15 so we've got a ways to go.

ARGH! With that promo, how can next week not be the midseason finale?

Even so, it ended right around Christmas since Ted stayed in NY instead of going home. It's not so unbelievable, but it was still in my mind as kinda weird.

The episode ended on Christmas, when Ted would have left to go home but was instead there to be with Robin.

I loved this episode and was brought to tears by the end, BUT… I kept thinking about the fact that Robin told Barney she was pregnant on Thanksgiving. And this episode ended on Christmas. Did this episode's events play out for four weeks?!

I've tried rewatching Ally on Netflix, but it has none of the ridiculousness I remember (in the first season at least) and it's mostly just boring.

I was thinking specifically of The Practice, they lost all the damn time.

I love the fact that, in theory, Lockhart/Gardner has an 80% win rate because you can't get away with showing THAT many losses on a CBS procedural.
