He very well might have spent hours looking for it .It's only a 40-42 minute show each week so if no one finds an idol or  them trying to find it is not relevant to the storyline it won't make the tv show.

As much as I like RI this season its usefulness is almost a curse.Probst now will be enabled to try out more bad twists when really the only reason RI works this season is because of the loved ones element to the game. Otherwise it's still a stupid twist that takes away 1 of the 3 elements of the game.

It's much easier to be a good sport about losing a game with a million dollar prize when you have several million in the bank already.
