Dennis Miller can still bring the funny but, anything like "An American Carol" sums up my disgust for this genre. And it isn't so much offensive as it is poorly conceived and done. The comedy is meant purely to rile their audience with cheap, easy stereotypes instead of making them laugh.

It helps when everyone has a sense of humor. The Star Wars geeks knew they were being ridiculous, but they were having fun.

You don't have to not be a perverted nihilistic drunken convict asshole, you just need to be less of a pussy. Be dismissive of Family Guy, not offended. It isn't worth that kind of emotion and it makes me want to take your lunch money.

Of what I've read about him, he wanted out when it became abundantly clear nobody knew what they were doing. The big thing is that he had a way out. The Army was going to allow him to return to the NFL, likely in exchange for promos and what not.
