To be fair, they didn't find their sweet spot with Taco really until this season. They ditched the music and just made him a younger, more socially inept version of Kramer. It's borderline brilliant (especially that nobody has actually thought of remaking Kramer since).

Just a classic song. It's the apple pie of pop music, to take the metaphor further. And there's a lot of depth in the lyrics.It amazes me it was written in 1977. Still sounds fresh. Yet it also sounds like it could've been written in 1964. Or 1955.

Pretty much agree on all accounts with these two episodes. My question, though: In "Any Friend of Diane's" we get Norm trying to impress his boss. One week later we get a completely new boss and situation. Weird.
