I really liked it too, the show's verging on Mike Leigh movie levels of emotional damage at the moment. It's not a fun show to watch right now, but I definitely enjoy it still. Hell, even Roger's sad and hollowed out right now.

Also, Megan has the capacity to straight-up call Don on his bullshit sometimes, like when they had that bust-up in the diner, and she didn't sit around tearfully waiting for him to come back after he stormed out.

It is silly to like The Cure.

@avclub-772800c641bbbf4f700f2bb365294695:disqus I see where you're going with that. There always seemed to be something between Pete Campbell and Peggy that was never properly dispelled. I'd say empathy, but it's Pete Campbell we're talking about.

Is this the early rumblings of a Mad Men backlash? Cause I still love it.

Also, her loved ones include Mark "failed coup" Thatcher. Who, I found out this week, has a knighthood.

Great mixtape.

@avclub-e3019767b1b23f82883c9850356b71d6:disqus I think Scary Movie 2 is probably the worst film I have ever seen.

I read that as campaign manager of foreplay.

Same, still getting giggling fits and I read it like five minutes ago.

That is awesome, I had no idea.

@Dikachu:disqus Just send an email to john_q_notacop@punkrulez.com

Mr Clark, this is the most blatant case of false advertising since my suit against the movie The Neverending Story.

Haha, that's the thing though! He always gets lumped in with Wallace and Eggers and Franzen, and I've thought it was sort of a disservice to him to get lumped in there with them, because his books are a lot more pleasurable.

Hey @avclub-c156902f5b20b572848be18c11634dfb:disqus, what I sweatily do with The Rock in a dim, red-lit warehouse on my own time is between me, God, and a select few subscribing viewers.

*grunts, heavy breathing*
*techno plays*

I think he's way less tiresomely wunderkind than most of those 40something American male wunderkind writers (full disclosure, I really like Jonathan Franzen's novels).

Ech, it's slightly hypocritical. I had the same reaction to Game of Thrones. I nearly stopped reading the first book after 20 pages because it was all direwolves and the provenance of swords and stern men saying stern things. I figured it was just fantasy bullshit, but then something clicked and I devoured all five

Really like how the fight scene between Vin Diesel and the (The?) Rock was cut so that some of the shots were pretty much indistinguishable from gay porn.

The only pop culture thing I'm aware of hating slightly beyond what it actually deserves is Muse, who always sound like a cross between Dokken and the Nuremberg rallies to me.
