A man stands naked in front of a mirror, eating soup. He is a fool.

YES.

Morrissey clearly hadn't been pre-briefed on that one.

But I genuinely really like it now, I've listened to them a lot the last six months. What did it was seeing them live at a festival, it was such a fun show that it made me want to go back and give them another try, and it clicked this time.

They grow on ya, man. Took me maybe four tries over a couple of years for it to click.

Been playing Farewell Transmission on repeat since I got in. This news has ruined my entire day.

Yeah, this has really thrown me for a loop.

Yeah, I guess it's easy to become accustomed to alt country-type musicians representing themselves as hard-living that it's still a shock when one of them actually turns out to have been living like his songs, and what a genuinely bad idea that is.

One thing I really liked about the last All Tomorrow's Parties I attended (curated by Shellac for the 17 millionth time) was that a lot of the bands knew each other and pitched in with each other's shows.

Amazing.

Have you no sense of decency sir? At long last, have you no sense of decency?

I really like that analogy. You're right, it's not a difficult read*, it's just really sprawling.

I had the same experience with Rae/Ghostface versus Rae solo, as it happens. I've definitely seen a few good hip-hop shows, and there's probably a limit to how bad it's possible for Shutterbug to sound, but the idea of seeing half of Outkast sleepwalking through his back catalogue in front of a half-empty club sounds

I refuse to believe this was a firstie. However, on the off chance of a mass-forfeiture or transit strike, I did take the liberty of preparing a few remarks.

I missed Big Boi last time for Janelle Monae, and apparently it was him and a couple of back-up guys lethargically playing parts of songs as a sort of mega-mix, before slouching off without a word after 45 minutes. Sounded pretty grim.

I like how totally unconcerned with making money they seem to be these days. I guess they got all that sweet car and beer advertising money from At War with the Mystics tracks, but Embryonic was great and pretty alienating, it's hard to imagine Justin Timberlake jamming with them in a dolphin costume these days.

Best description of the Flaming Lips I've ever heard.

For someone who reckons he only took acid the once, he sure talks about acid a lot.

I really liked the Erykah Badu track too.
