DAWES DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY!

Dawes is playing a free in-store show at Rough Trade East, near my office. I'm worrying if 'is a meme on the av club' is sufficient reason to go and see a band. Maybe it's best to keep the Laurel Canyon Sound as an undefined ideal?

I await the arrival of the Horse Ebooks

Seems unnecessarily macabre. I know they were hard up, but horse limbs were genuinely the only available road marking materials?

Yeah, fair play to anyone who gets something this abrasive played on mainstream music tv. On the left deck - basic crunk backing track 3. On the right deck - World's Most Annoying Sounds Vol 17.

This entry clearly got bumped just so Fluttershy's verses could get more play. You can give them their own Great Job, Internet! entry Marcus, no one'll mind.

Amazing.

Yeesh, that's a terrible line.I feel like part of the reason behind the hate for the Artist is that there's not much else out like it, apart from Hugo. If it was an action movie or a comedy or anything where it was one of many similar offerings, people would like it or dislike it but probably not with as much fervour.

I never realised how charismatic a performer Jack White is until I saw part of a Raconteurs festival set on tv.

Hi, is this where we have the argument about Meg White's drumming?

@avclub-edd6a7e04e7f4dd932a5c44f282f9b4e:disqus I wonder what the metacritic score for the album would have ended up being if she hadn't gone on SNL, or if the SNL performance had gone well.

Does raise the odds of a Tamil Tiger protest at the Superbowl.

It's definitely slow, and I'd be lying if I said there weren't any lingering shots of Harry Dean Stanton looking at his reflection in the mirror, but it has a really strong ambience helped by the Ry Cooder soundtrack.

It seems like it's pretty much anything where he might have rehearsed what he's going to say even a little bit.

It's weird, I used to hate him, but I saw him on some talk shows, and was surprised by how genuinely sharp he seemed to be. But I saw some of his stand-up and it fell pretty flat.

Whether you like it or not, it's definitely iconic.

Dude, not to make you feel bad or whatever, but I am so glad I got to see Prince a couple of years back.

Sounds like you had quite the Mr T Experience!

Oh dude, been there. Five shows in London. But you know, they'll probably play another five next year. Next year being NEVER.

Oh god, totally. 16.99 for a record, plus 4.99 for a single, and the single would come in two formats, and at least one of the singles would be nothing but remixes.
