If ever there was a movie that needed a Spoiler Space....
I feel like the whole second season has been more-or-less about that. First, we are told as an audience by the existence of the marshal that the armor isn’t the special bit. Then we’re told by Bo-Katan that the creed isn’t the special bit. Then we’re told by Boba that being a foundling isn’t the special bit. None of…
I’m not sure why Boba Fett wouldn’t just get the armor back from Cobb. Seems much easier than getting it from an actual Mandalorian.
I wish that the show had come up with a more organic way of having The Mandalorian not have his jetpack throughout the fight rather than it being a somewhat random request from Boba Fett. Like maybe have them do a bit of a fistfight at first or something and have Boba disable one of the rockets like The Mandalorian…
Some of the most low stakes fighting ever. Just some terrible staging and choreography. I know this is a kid’s show, but maybe make the Stormtroopers at least land a single fricking blow to show they have at least one tooth.
Uh, have you not seen her Twitter? Saying Democrats are blind with a picture of masks over their eyes. Inviting her followers to got to Parler instead where there’s real free speech. Last year she made a joke about trans people but walked at back as people misunderstanding her. Her recent Twitter shows nobody was…
He’s the anti-Gus, who was the best boss ever (at least to his fast food employees).
Glad to see that the show’s uptick in quality is directly related to them crafting more sophisticated, serialized storytelling and actually having real stakes and setbacks for the character.
I’m still curious about the statement when they first met up with Starfleet about how there hadn’t been a Mirror Universe sighting in hundreds of years now.
How many people live on Book’s planet? Because it seemed like it was just a small town. Couldn’t they have just dropped off a couple of replicators? In fact, why didn’t they mention replicators at all? Replicators were already pretty common in the 24th century, surely by the 32nd century, replicators would be even…
So what is the deal with Book’s species. Are they all empaths or just him and his brother? Because it seems really weird that no one on his planet would think “Hey, what if we work together to ask the locusts to leave?” Yes, Discovery boosted their powers but no one in all the time the locusts have been a problem has…
I like Michael Burnham, I’m just sick of her. They could learn from next generation and feature the rest of the crew once in a while.
I haven’t minded Burnham as much in the past two seasons - generally I like her fine, and Martin-Green is a solid actor.
The Burn:
Ooh a classic example of “Alien that couldn’t possibly put its shirt on without taking its head off first.” Right up there with an Ithorian. Excellent. Chef’s kiss.
Could we get an interview with the Warner Brothers executive who moved Wonder Woman’s release date from Winter 2019 to spring 2020? Was it to influence the presidential election? Was it a box office move? Was it a coke fueled fever dream?
Yeah, that’s about right. I really did hate the incest wondertwins, not leas because their creepy-sexy vibe was utterly pointless and had no plot relevance. Commodore whats-her-name bothered me less, but the fleet at the end was quite silly.
Glad to hear that I’m not the only one who hates Mariner. I disliked her in the pilot and hoped that like most pilots, they would improve characters as the season went along. Unfortunately it just got worse, especially in the episode where they had the entire crew as a holodeck story, where she took glee in murdering…
Yes, it was, but it felt like a thousandth-time rehash of an old Trek plot. Filler episode, IMHO.
I also rolled my eyes at the Tilly subplot, especially the final scene, and I actually like Tilly as a character. They really missed an opportunity to have multiple people vie for the role (or choose not to). It could have fleshed out some of the side characters, like new blonde lady who used to be a robot.
