Specifically, he blew up Romulus so that he could then blow up Vulcan.

The reason it works better in Lower Decks is because the plots are small, second contact stories that can be centered around the captains daughter fucking up things. Discovery has the problem of placing the fate of the universe in Michael's hands every season. The stakes are just too big on this series.
Star Fleet personnel have evolved beyond petty jealousy or the cute Nordic Lieutenant who we’ve already seen run the bridge occasionally would be pretty annoyed she wasn’t tapped on the shoulder to be the XO
Mirror Tilly was probably REALLY good at murder, so that probably explains that.
The whole thing makes no sense. People still use dilithium for ftl travel after the burn. You’d think more people would have tried to find out about the burn at least to learn if it could happen again. Even criminals and pirates would be interested since so much of their power depend on control of dilithium.
Two planets we knew about in Star Trek vs. a handful of ones we’d never heard of (and didn’t really see) in The Force Awakens. Six of one or half a dozen of another, really.
The actress is 35 so it’s pretty confusing.
One of the things I was enjoying about this time travel thing was that it left behind the whole Michael Burnham connection to the Spock family and all that nonsense that entailed, but nope, here we are again. And we finally get to something that everyone agrees Michael is the only one that can do and she’s all, “nope”.…
Like, literally the only reason that was a feature of the crappy “Kelvin timeline” is because (A) J.J. has zero original ideas what so ever, and (B) was on a mission to make Star Trek as needlessly like Star Wars as he possibly could. So he blew up Vulcan because that’s what happened to Alderaan. Seriously, that…
The terms of the contract came out when his ex-manager sued him. He got $4.5 million up front and an additional about $50 million, plus half of the DVD sales if he would’ve finished the contract. It was actually a ridiculously good contract at the time really. Because he broke the contract, the only thing he got to…
Not even to start an argument, I don’t plan on replying because we all believe what we believe, but I’d love to hear someone actually defending the Baby Yoda Eats Egg gag, because I thought it was deeply unfunny. As I’ve expressed elsewhere, the issue isn’t that he’s eating the eggs (dark humor can be great!) but that…
Sorry to be the one to inform you.
There’s a Cardassian in Starfleet command!
Georgiou’s line, “you had me at unsanctioned mission”, made me think about how wild it would be if we were still referencing a line from Jerry Maguire 1,000 years from now as part of casual speech. That’s not a criticism of the writing—a show that included references to fictional future pop culture would be…
This show is so well constructed and considering how awful TROS was I hesitate to be that critical, but I’d love to see this show branch away from Mando shows up somewhere and has to complete a task/request for someone before he can advance in his central goal.
This is mildly interesting, but I don’t understand how anyone could think Trump has a strategy. He doesn’t. He’s a toddler, and a particularly mean and dumb one at that. He just lashes out at stuff. If he had even a modicum of strategic ability, he would’ve beaten Biden like a red-headed rented mule.
I don’t have a problem with Michael the character wavering between being a maverick rogue agent or a team player. I do think the Federation, and more importantly, the show itself needs a clearer perspective on whether or not following her instincts in defiance of everyone else is a problem or not. Because she does it…
I’m totally nitpicking here, but I noticed that they gave Disco the “-A” designation after the retrofit...isn’t that reserved for a new ship in the line? In TMP, the Enterprise gets her glorious retrofit but doesn’t get the “-A.”
Yeah, I was having trouble really getting into the emotions of that last scene. Michael and Saru haven’t done anything together all season. She’s got more of a casual friendship with Tilly. She’s making out with Book. She has more banter with Georgiou, for chrissakes. They haven’t even really worked together in a…
i was thinking about those Romulan micro black holes.
