Jesus, that went places.
Jesus, that went places.
I understand the concern, but it's difficult to argue this on one hand and ignore Garnet on the other.
Can it be arranged for Steven Universe to be a half hour-long anime every week, eye-catches and all?
I didn't see any Gamecube.
So… Steven's getting a little overpowered, huh.
The wave of corruptions that we have as the moment was explicitly caused by the Diamonds, sure, but all we actually know about the process is that it's mental damage. I don't know how far they're going with Amethyst doubting herself, but I don't think that it's a coincidence they had her reformation be quite that……
I am NOT happy at the way Amethyst's reformation went down. Far too ominous, and the flipping through forms too spasmodic. Corruption incoming?
I don't know for certain where this is going, but I'm preettttyyyy sure it's nowhere good. Jasper building an army? Jasper fusing with corrupted gems?
Well, that'll teach me to read the review before I make sarky comments, I guess.
Team Jasper's blasting off againnnnnnnnnnn… *ping*
I'm thinking healing corrupted Gems is another endgame thing, along with Steven fusing with a Gem.
Well, this is obviously a very subjective point, but Lapis survived her trauma and is starting to work through it. Corrupted gems seem unsalvageable; is being a mindless beast with no apparent hope of rescue really better than what Lapis went through?
I think it's probably important to note how fundamentally irrelevant to the episode it was that Centi and the Gems were on opposite sides of the conflict. For Pearl and Garnet, at the very least, Centi was an unfortunate victim of an unspeakable barbarity, rather than someone who was at any point an enemy.
The thought occurs that, for all of her pain and trauma, Lapis was damned lucky to be in the mirror when she was.

Ronaldo is a good, refreshing, entertaining character in this episode.
Agreed, actually- the Steven Nuke is a perfect opportunity to flesh out some of the characters' interactions and relationships with each other.
TODAY, ON STEVEN UNIVERSE: Peridot discovers memes.
I certainly buy the show's take on it; Greg and Pearl are two characters with an awful lot more in common than separating them, and it's only through talking it out and expressing their pain that they can move on. I don't think this is the sum total of the healing that the characters will go through, but it's what we…
Unless it's about Greg looking after Baby Steven in the aftermath of Rose's death, of course.
If that's the case, I'll need to stock up on the tissues for that one.
