Did anyone else get a huge laugh out of "Hi Dana, I'm Carrie!"? It works on two levels, and they're both super funny! First, Carrie is acting as if she and Dana never met before, or Dana wouldn't remember meeting her (yeah, like you're going to forget some hysterical woman coming to your house and telling you your dad

This is episode is way too silly and childish, especially compared to the best of "Batman: The Animated Series", until the scene with Gordon finally gives it some depth.

The best thing about that scene is how endless the brownies are when Homer starts eating them. The animation as he shoves brownies into his mouth is just an infinite loop so he can never run out. It's completely unrealistic. It's also hilarious and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Uh oh. Only the second mirror episode and already tiring of the mirror universe? This does not bode well for future mirror episode viewings. Personally, I liked all of the mirror episodes, even the one in season 7 that most fans seem to hate for some reason.

I'd like to see an A.V. Club write-up about "Xena: Warrior Princess". I think it would be fascinating, either in just one of these top ten features, or in TV Club Classic coverage.

"L.A. Story" is a masterpiece. This review makes me feel like I must have missed the prime of Martin's career (I'm more familiar with his '80s/'90s work), but he had a pretty amazing run in movies before his more recent hacky stuff.

"not just because it includes a shot where Mazursky looks up at his own eyelids (a common Kubrick-character expression)"

Nice description of Garbo. It really cuts to the heart of why I like her so much too. I always admire the surprisingly natural blend of confidence/strength and vulnerability that she can switch between in her performances without it ever seeming forced.

It's not that weird. Mulder and Scully still call each other "Mulder" and "Scully" even as they live together in the second X-Files movie.

Then how come they lost the Grammy to the Be Sharps?
