I didn't interpret the recent message from Bomb the Music Industry! as meaning they're breaking up. I think it means they're just not touring for awhile (or ever again, at least in some cities) because they're not making enough money being a band as a career.

Interesting theory. Actually it's a double reference to Quote Unquote Records and a scene on "The Simpsons" between the sarcastic store clerk and Comic Book Guy.

Wow. I know I said I'd never watch this show again, but I have to check out at least part of this episode just to hear my current favourite band do the theme song. Never imagined that would happen.

Al Jean made a good point on the audio commentary when he asked something like "Why does the fact that Ralph yells make his performance amazing?" It never occurred to me when I watched the episode, but this is a smart question.

(In response to Janet's post, which I can't reply directly to for some reason)

"And they say I'm scary?"

That "fake orgasm" Bart does here is one of the creepiest scenes of the classic Simpsons era. I didn't even realize what it was at first (went over my heard when I saw this as a youngin). Now that I get it, I can never watch that scene without cringing.

Another vote for coverage of that show. It's a real underrated gem, has Bruce Campbell in his prime doing some of the best work of his career, and one of the best TV theme songs ever! Delightful supporting cast too.

Bruce Campbell may not play this role as goofily as one might expect him to play most roles based on his work in the "Evil Dead" movies, but I can definitely see him bringing some of what he learned from that experience to his performance here.

I love "Space Probed" so much. Probably my favourite "Animaniacs" episode featuring Yakko, Wakko, and Dot. I just love the way they mess with the alien, his gurgling language is memorably goofy, and the sci-fi references just warmed my sci-fi nerd heart. I particularly enjoyed the gag with the creature from "Alien"
