Thursday What's on tonight: UK freeview version:
I thought part of Princess Leia's appeal was she was actually kind of a bitch.
Wednesday What's on tonight: unoffical UK freeview edition
I'm having a similar problem with Orphan Black; her British accent sounds Australian and it's nagging at me. Her foster-brother's is spot on.
I always put Whitechapel in the roundup because I try and prioritise UK scripted dramas and it qualifies, but then I never actually remember to watch*. Is anyone following it?
Some of my best friends are from space.
Jodie Foster's accent is from space, obviously. It's a space accent.
We're caught up with Agents of Shield in the UK now (airs on Fridays). I enjoyed the first one. It always bugs me that superheroes are constantly finding burning buildings to rush into and rescue people, so I was pleased when it was revealed that he had a non-coincidental reason to be there.
Tuesday What's on tonight: UK freeview version:
Home Grown: take your choice of sitcoms today:
The Wrong Mans ep2/6 (9pm BBC2).
London Irish ep2 (10pm C4) the first ep showed some promise so I'm tuning in again.
Bad Education (10pm BBC3) ep 5/7.
OR
more Whitechapel (9pm ITV)
Well, Lost became a mega-hit that way, so there's hope for The Returned.
Monday What's On Tonight: UK edition
@waxlion:disqus We have Geordie Shore, The Only Way Is Essex (at the opposite end of England) and probably a few others by now. I just reached for the Essex stereotype because it's geographically closest to me.
From across the Atlantic, I'm finding the singing-in-the-car joke makes him rather likeable. The Uk equivalent of this character is an Essex boy racer, and I suppose I might be less tolerant of that.
Are there other execs on more than 2.2 mil? Their money goes in the pot too. If that money is distributed in the wage packets of the lowest paid (not everyone else in the company) it probably means 100s of dollars extra a year for the very poorest, which I'm sure they would consider eminently practical.
One of my lecturers opened the term with "Hello, my name is Dr Shankar Balasubramanian. I bet yours isn't!"

IT Crowd finale! (9pm C4 Sunday). One off special to wrap up the IT crowd. I've been enjoying the repeats more than I remembered, so I'll be tuning in.
I picked up Stake land on DVD. I wasn't blown away by it but I guess it does compare well with something like The Walking Dead, which probably has a similar budget per minute.
Well I did tune in to gogglebox and found several things about it thought-provoking. It's a diverse cross section of the-sort-of-people-who-sign-up-for-this-sort-of-show, and people's reactions to the news and political items were interesting.
I've read this one. I think it ends with the rest of us shutting him in his room and ignoring him until he goes away.
