I've fallen behind. The trouble with cringe-coms is it requires a real effort to watch.

I think it's a tremendous movie. It all seems very abstract when you watch it but ever since (infrequently yet regularly) something will happen in real life that makes me think, "ah, this is exactly what Synecdoche, New York was all about".

I thought that pillar moment was a bit awkward. I know they couldn't literally show a man turning inside out but they could have at least stayed on Abby's face and let her act the whole scene.

The benefit is that when the characters complete their story arcs they either leave or die and don't stick around clogging up the place. Misfits occasionally spins its wheels for a few eps but not to anything like the extent of most supernatural dramas.

I was investing in Abby's relationship with tortoise boy much more than was sensible (rather like Abby herself) and I thought unexpectedly turning him inside out was spectacularly cruel, even for Misfits. I wonder what psychological impact this will have on her next week.

That makes so much sense. How long until the copyrights expire and someone can do a crossover?

Hey, I just realised Charlie Brooker's new show, How Video Games Changed the World, is showing on Channel 4 at 9pm on Sat. I always like Brooker's stuff so I'll tune in despite not really being in to video games at all.

I quite liked it. Not totally convinced about the plot to sabotage UK nuclear power stations, but it had atmosphere.

Well subtitles are really hard to read on radio.

He was good though. The problem with that one was that everyone in it was better than the material.

They're not showing it again, just doing a season of docs and things about the cold war and its cultural impact, including tv like Threads. Some have been very interesting.
