Don't forget his filming of "Higgledy Piggledy Pop!", my favorite Sendak book, and a must for anyone who has to say farewell to a beloved pet

That's a great point and it really shows.  I hear they also did that in Rango, which isn't exactly on my list of things to see, but is a great idea.

highest possible recommendation.  They had me at "original Aubrey Beardsley" next to the Ulysses manuscript.

I don't like it either. Sea Change outstanding though

hear hear!  Tell am to go straight!  I wholeheartedly second this.

Man oh man, I don't know what to say, but THANK YOU @avclub-7706d2dc2da6837340effd985dc620b6:disqus for making me shake my head and say Yeesh

Just discovered all parts to King Heroin this year, one of my new favorites.  Bleak and crucial

"Why? Why was I programmed to feel pain?"

Preservation Hall was definitely the real deal.

It never sits right with me when one of them passes away and there's a young out of place replacement.  Still, the music is solid.

Seconded.

Mamma get here quick!
And bring me The Flailing Stick

Na zdrowie!

Late is the hour in which this goofball chooses to appear

I remember seeing Punch Drunk Love in the theaters and feeling the parts were greater than the sum.  I would find myself inexplicably loving certain scenes, moments, the cast, etc., but in the end, I didn't feel much for the movie.  Boy did the defenders of that film give me the same hard time about it as they did for

I like everything he does aside from his music

The Solo issues I have a treasures (Cooke, Pope, Sale, Corben).  Dying to find out what else I missed out on!

He's great with his own material, he's great re-imagining the material of others (Sinclair), but this is a great filmmaker dealing with someone else's very tricky material.  I can dig on the "cautious" part.

that'd be hot hot hot!
