I feel like I almost found my thread.  I have read so much commentary on this beloved program that I suppose I'M crazy not to fawn over Mad Men, but I can't bear any of the allegedly complex characters.  Everyone else's escapism with that show just feels like wallowing in the worst.

There's no defending Tideland.  That's another film that feels the need to address a secondary "controversy" (I mean, come on, Gilliam HAD to introduce the DVD?) when the real problem is more "No, no, you just made an AWFUL movie."
