Mara from the Shield!  She's pretty super in that last season

I would be all too happy to read a "Set List" with Slick Rick

He deserves all the reverence that is given to Cash, Presley, Holly and others…perhaps even more.  Un-imitable yet everywhere; he was the real deal.

Terrific interview with one of my favorite producers.  I would happily read pages upon pages just about one of my all time favorites: Gravediggaz "6 Feet Deep."  Especially the criminally under-appreciated Shabazz the Disciple!

yes, DVD commentary from Julien himself. Couldn't tell you which episode without combing through every Jace-entaries.  He didn't come across as cool about it either

you've reminded me of the bitter-beer-face I made the first time I read the words "mastered for iTunes"

I work with a lot of different bands and labels who put out vinyl and I'd say that 99% make sure you get mp3s/FLAC at some point.  Sometimes it's a coupon, and sometimes if you order it on-line it is an instant download while you wait for the LP to ship.  This is current bands though, not, old Stereolab reissues, or

oh, yeah, and how!

dude, you had me at Tesla Coils.  That is awesome

it is still confusing to me in a "chicken and egg" way.  Some folks are fighting to keep it alive and profitable, which of course involves higher prices, plus whatever happened to inexpensive "media mail"?   Also, because of industry PERCEIVED resurgence of vinyl, they've actually made the cost of materials much more,

WOW.  That is an uncomfortably true perspective.  I'm mostly against piracy, though I certainly see the appeal, but you've really hit upon that innocent joy of discovery.

The "lie detector" copy machine is a classic.

On friendships and records:

When I was getting married, as a thank you gift to my groomsman, I wanted to get him his #1 most sought after record: a first pressing of the Zombies (Odessy & Oracle - CBS 1968). I don't have any disposable income, but I wrote a guy on ebay who was selling his copy for a more than

wow, two GREAT records.

yep.  I want to listen, enjoy, and experience one of my favorite things ever - MUSIC - as an inclusive contemplative inspiring exciting, or at least, foreground moment

Many reissues are suspect, because way too many of them come from CD/digital masters, so to be fair, you can't debate the evidence properly.  Reissued isn't Re-Mastered.  If you're buying a reissue it's just to have it, because you like it, and that's ok.  If you buy Rumours it's because you don't like good music much.

"NO" as well.
Rogers is an easy target, not the straw that broke a cynical camel.

mastering for vinyl is pretty specific and this is an argument many audiophiles use, subject to debate.  Loudness on vinyl, or fullness/deepness, can also be swayed by the wieght of the LP, or the spacial compression of grooves (length of time for each track).

is it really an acid song?
