I'm just waiting for the 3D Arrested Development movie…

@CapitalistPig: The Flintstones was on ABC in Prime Time in 1960. The Simpsons is old, but it's not that old.

The Shining is one of the few books I've never finished just because I like the movie so much. That was pretty much the only movie that ever really scared me, and when reading the book, I can just picture everything exactally like the movie, and I just get creeped out, and have to put it down.

Eternal happiness? I'd buy THAT for a dollar!

Not to refute every one of your points (some of which are valid), but a few notes:
-The cashier left the note on the counter while he went to fill it, and that one guy started a fight. Plenty of time for the ATF guy to turn it over, and scribble on it.

The Sun: Every time the Earth tries to get away, it just keeps pulling it back in.

I just got a Twitter, and most of the people I follow don't post that inane "every little thing I do" crap. Though it can be interesting to see what a day is like for someone like Neil Gaiman (who is so incredibly connected to everything you can spend an entire day just following links he tweets), or getting random

Well, I for one welcome our new Cybernetic iOverlords.

Jonas Bros. vs. Coraline
$2.79 mill? And for this theaters were dropping 3D Coraline left and right?

"Moviegoing in cities s always better than it is in suburbs." Really? It seems to me that the closer I get to the city, the more people are talking through the movie…

@Miller: On a related note, Muppets Inferno
Dante = Kermit
Virgil = Gonzo
Beatrice = Ms. Piggy
The three heads of Satan = Statler, Waldorf, and Animal
Discuss.

1) Lots of people are buying Kindles for cheep and easy internet access for text heavy webpages, like e-mail or Wikipedia. Is Amazon crying about this? I doubt it.

@Persia: You may want to think about a Sony Reader. It doesn't have a full QWERTY keyboard, but from what you said, I doubt your father's looking for one anyways. What it does have is very obvious buttons, and an extremely user-friendly interface. I also like mine because it reads any kind of e-book, not just ones

So this is the sequal to Hamptaro?

Don't forget about Hanna Gettelman, though, whose super power is to text people…

With horror in Japan, there seems to be considerably more in movies and manga than anime. Not sure why that is. If you're thinking of trying manga, I reocmmend "Spiral" and "Gyo". Both are very strange, but still rather scary. Now that I think about it, they may be by the same author…

Naoki Urasawa's stuff is just awesome in general. His next manga after Monster, 20th Century Boys, is possibly some of the greatest manga ever written, and the highest selling manga in Japan ever. His current work, Pluto, is considerably awesome as well.
