Isn't the reason neither "Numb" or "Lemon" were charting singles that the first one was only released as a video, and the second only as a 12-inch record, and the Billboard singles chart was still weighted fairly heavily towards sales of singles at the time?
Let's not forget that Capitol tried to cash in on that Beatles medley by issuing their own version, "The Beatles Movie Medley". Unsurprisingly, it has never been rereleased.
