FINALLY
FINALLY
Kind of like Holy Motors in that way.
It's like being confronted with your own mortality for two hours: it's horrifying and incredibly sad but you stop taking things for granted for a little while.
That ending was such a great mix of funny and incredibly disturbing.
Yeah, no doubt it was a problem for decades. It's just nice that they're actually listening to their critics now and trying to improve things. Hopefully the movies will start to get a little more diverse as well.
I really, really like Black Widow so far. The art is gorgeous and the action looks great. The writing isn't on par with Hawkeye yet, but it's not bad either. Between this, Captain Marvel, and Ms. Marvel (which looks great), I love how much effort Marvel is putting into its female heroes right now.
I feel better about Llewyn Davis getting shafted if I pretend that the Academy didn't want to ruin the integrity of the movie by letting something good happen to the characters.
Yeah, it's really, really good.
Just came here to say the exact same thing.
Misfits.
Fallon ruins the hell out of it.
I would also add the karaoke scene from the very end of Only God Forgives.
That scene, or the scene where Bruce Dern goes back to the home where he grew up, or the scene at the bar where Stacy Keach has the flyer.
I found the very, very end of season 1 to be so fucking stupid and offensive that I never watched season 2 and I instantly forgot everything that happened in season 1.
I thought Wrong was really funny, actually, but I enjoy pure nonsense. I'm annoyed that it showed up on this list.
There HAS to be a popular singer with better acting chops than CU; there HAS to be. But then again, she's very squeaky clean and inoffensive, as far as I can tell, so I guess they wanted to appeal to elderly and religious viewers.
God dammit, I am sick of the music industry spinning that Miley Cyrus VMA performance as "controversial" or "too edgy for America" or whatever. It was an incredibly bad performance, and she looked silly during the whole thing: THAT's why people were obsessed with it. It was only later that people tried to spin it into…
Night of the Knightly Night Knights Darkness Blackness
Part of why I liked Mass Effect more was (SPOILERS)
The prequel games were better in part because they accomplished the feat of making the prequels into fun, coherent stories instead of dull, incomprehensible slogs. There was less room for improvement with eps 4-6, and it wasn't as surprising when they turned out to be fast-paced and fun.
