I liked that about Totoro also, but in that case Mai and Sosuke had lives outside of the imaginary friend. It didn't take over their lives. And it also didn't trick them into doing things they weren't supposed to. At that point I think a parent has the right to be concerned.

Nah, people are not really ready for a relationship unless they are comfortable in their own skins. I like making my wife happy. It's one of my main goals in life. But I have a sense of purpose out side of her. I work because it makes me happy. I like myself a little better because a bagged such an amazing woman, but

That and not clipping your nails in bed and picking up your socks are minor things. You'd have to do that with anyone. Also, with tailoring yourself, it's usually a two way street. I watch your romantic comedies, you watch my tentacle porn. Eventually we might grow to like what our mate does, but its a two way street.

I'm just finished rewatching Perfect Mate
And there's really no way to describe this except sexist. She really walks around being sexual, but never once worrying about her own sexual needs. The incident with Riker is really gross - and I like Riker sex scenes. She says something about the best thing about a metamorph

@CFAmick, he laughs in the original timeline as well. He tells Wesley so in Samaritan Snare.

Yeah, Sam. The moral seems to be that this woman would have been great to be with and Picard missed out on something awesome. Not that there is no such thing as a "perfect mate". A ball was definitely dropped.

Oh, I forgot he also turned down Jama-Heron on Risa before he even met Vash.

Oh, and I just remembered - In "Allegiance" one of the ways they could tell it wasn't the real Picard was because he came on to Bev. So even the crew realize what a prude he is.

But in the end you also have to judge an episode by it's human writers. And if the writers come up with a scenario that is racist or misogynistic then it says more about their outlook than anything else. In universe suspension of disbelief only goes so far.

Picard the Asexual
I've always found Picard's sex life as extremely bizarre and I never knew why the writers wrote him this way or why the audience accepted him this way.

This is the greatest of the Batman films
Noland can't hold a candle to this.

He really is the only one on the the ship who is enjoying himself ever. He's the only one open to new experiences and getting to know new people - and not just to fuck them. And when he fucks it's totally for enjoyment, not to get the upper hand with some alie like Kirk.

And Picard did have proof. The plasma whatevers were open. It would be easy for the tribunal to come the the same conclusions from the evidence.

I don't know why, but I don't hate "Cost"
quite as much as everyone else. I mean, its weak and it's overly reliant on silly emotional bull shit, but at the same time there's some joy in it that I think is genuine. Maybe it's because my mother loves this episode.

Dushku as Catwoman?
Selina is clearly African American in Year One. So much for staying true to the material.

That's a hell of a design flaw. The Constellation have both drives bored through and didn't explode. AND the ship was somewhat recoverable.

I guess you didn't see Leia Brahms. Surely Geordi will get to feel her engines this go round.

I don't see how it's preaching to the quire. I've known plenty of sexist, homophobic trekkies in my day (amazing right?). And remember that TNG was mainstream. It wasn't a cult nerd show that people remember it being.

I was just thinking how funny it would be if Joe Tormolen had been in a time loop and killed himself with the butter knife 10 times during the episode. "Oh no, he's killing himself with butter knife again! Hey Joe! Do it with a spoon this time!"
