That "quibble" isn't my only problem with the ep, as I said. But I think it's pretty big. After all, it's a pretty minor ding on the engine. It's like when that guy on "Naked Time" killed himself with a butter knife. It's annoying and upsetting. And "Naked Time" is truly a great episode, and that quibble isn't even a

Riker seemed to be into all kinds of women, including alien, and not all of them were total babes. So I don't find Riker liking Soran that difficult to believe. I also don't see why Riker wouldn't have tried to save Soran from brainwashing even if they had been to romantic relationship, but just a close professional

That's fine if you accept it as a sci-fi convention, but it was not a convention of Star Trek until TNG. Ships didn't explode until you pushed them to hard or hit them with a lot of energy at once. So if it's A. already established in universe, B. thwarted simply for the plot, and C. dumb then I can complain about it.

Never a fan of Bragga
I hate that Bragga's sole reason for this episode is the blow the Enterprise up as much as he can. That was his same motivation in All Good Things and Generations. Bleh. But blowing the ship up is the main conceit in this episode and it's one I usually hate a lot. Doing it 10 times only makes it

spicolo323 - Then you need to take another look at a fine over forty lady by the name of "Lisa Edelstien". I would also check out one "Kate Walsh" and "Nigella Lawson" who is no less than 51 and extremely hot.

LOL, Remek is a smoking corps.

LOL, I didn't even realize they contradict themselves in the very same episode.

BTW, the whole "organ redundancy" this is so dumb when you've seen so many single shot Klingon kills in the show. Gorkon comes immediately to mind. It's so fan boy to say "Well my cool race has two of every organ so if you stab me in the heart I have another one! Neya!!!"

It's not going to get better
I know I say this nearly every week, but this is the slow slide into mediocrity and there's little turning back. Power Play starts off a trope that becomes way over used in the next two seasons: Evil Data. And Data is so sweet, and so trustworthy but not in an annoying way, that making him

That was me!
I was the one who called this the "Kiddy Season". I did it. Me, me, me. And with Wesley as a guest twice this season, another Alexander episode in the pipes (teamed up with Luaxanna Troi no less), and the alien ghost antics of "Imaginary Friend" it's hard to argue it's not.

Oh the good times.
When this show was on the air I was 14 or so. I used to pester my dad by say "Father? Father! Father! Father? Father!" over and over again in a nasally voice. He would yell back "Alexander!" and we would laugh and laugh. Sigh.

You mean it was the only way for you to get attention and add to the conversation with your limited intelligence and vocabulary.

Yeah, as a war show I think DS9 sucks. I wouldn't like it under any name. But I also can hold the opinion that it is the most un-Trek of all the Trek shows. I think Season 6 and 7 and all the mvoies of TNG are bad. I think Voyager and Enterprise are some of the worst crap ever put on TV. But they are basically bad

@Colby, You're neglecting the spirit of the show though, which is not "the human condition" period. It's very specifically about understanding other and learning not to use your guns. Any wagon train is going to take some rifles with them. But are you going to start shooting at the natives or are you going to go in

@Bad Horse, I've said several times that I didn't like the idea of war in DS9, but I also never liked the characters or writing. And Voyager had equally bad writing, dull characters, and juvenile love dramas. Oh, and tits with 7 of 9. Because I can't just watch porn - which usually has better plots.

Oooo! Look who's using the big boy words! And to think he used to just say stuff like "pee pee" and "ca ca". But now he can say shithead. We're so proud of him.

Just because they discussed wars doesn't mean we had to see them. War in Trek was treated like some awful thing we don't like to discuss. Something that happened before, but not now. War was boring - and it really is - it's people shooting at each other and tactics and "will our side win this week?"

@Jean-Luc Prickhard. Honestly, I don't think you understand Star Trek. The writers never made a war show because Trek is about exploring and meeting new people and exploring new ideas. War is and old concept. It's been done to death.

@Bad Horse, RDM was in officer's training school in hopes of flying. He never really "served". Not like the people in TOS who were actually shot at. You could say RDM was trying to live out his dreams of being a pilot. But he was medically disqualified from flying and I'm not even sure he was ever on a ship.

@sajanas GR didn't want an old, bald captain. He fought Stewart getting the role. I think it was Justman who pushed hard for him.
