A-Rod
Did you see the anger coming out of this girl? It was like watching a stick of dynamite about to go off.

Jacob and Not-Locke are kings. In the game of chess, the kings do nothing until the end. They make everyone else do all the heavy lifting.

The Proposal
I hope the powers that be will consider doing a CTotD for The Proposal. It wasn't a horrid movie, but wow, the commentary track is without question the worst I've heard. After about 10 minutes, I had to turn it off.

Seacrest & Slumdog, Esq.
I thought one of the funniest lines of the episode was where Chang referred to Jeff and Abed as the law firm of Seacrest and Slumdog…

Ty Burrell = Star
I think it's become obvious that Burrell is the star of this show. I loved him in Back to You, and it's great to see he found the right show this time. I mean I love the rest of the cast, too, but Burrell makes me laugh harder than anyone else.

Ah, thanks. You guys are absolutely right.

How Do We Know It's 2007 for the Island Folks?
Just out of curiosity, how do we know for sure that Sawyer/Kate/Jack/Miles/Hurley/Sayid are in 2007? I know they mention something about the Swan being built and then busted, but what other evidence is given in the episode that assures it is 2007? Why couldn't it be

Every one of Taub's lines was comedy gold. I loved his deliver of "You're a genius" — just a perfect pitch of obsequious sarcasm.

Ed Park's Personal Days
I'm a little disappointed Leonard didn't ask Ferris about Ed Park's Personal Days, which came out just a hair later, was about workplace horrors, and was written in the first-person plural. I was always curious about what he thought about it.

C at Best
It's just back to status quo after some excellent post-Wilson episodes. You're totally right, Zach — 13 has become Cameron as well. Wasn't 13 annoying enough as she was?

A, pure and simple.
Ashley's incessant doomsday questions were unintentionally hilarious — I kept thinking that at one point, she'd ask House; "So, is he dead yet?"

Thank you, Corey, for mentioning Kevin Brockmeier. Whether it's Things That Fall from the Sky, The Truth About Celia (which, although labeled a novel, could easily be a collection), or The View from the Seventh Layer, his name must be mentioned on this list.

Too kind - this episode deserves a D-.
Chalk me up as another one who often thinks Zach is too harsh, but man, this time, you're too kind. That line alone — "Is it about me and Lucas?" — was so incredibly awful — and then to make it even worse, they go into the scene between Cuddy and Lucas, right? It was jarring

Who's the Cylon?
That'll probably be the most "entertaining" part of this show. Like that old priest that Father Jack works with — you just know he's an unmarked V.

I just couldn't suspend my disbelief, that's all. For the first time, I saw these people for who they were — actors in a series, working in front of cameras, etc. It broke the illusion of truth because what they were dealing with was bigger than them.

Fake.
Even though this show is about exteriors and the masks we wear, the show has always seemed genuine to me. Not last night's episode, though. The word that kept coming at me was "fake." And I don't think it's anything anybody could've done about it. The only parallel I have is to 9-11, and any sort of

Not the first time Don looked like Dick
Back in the first season, when Don discovers Pete knows about his fake identity, he runs to Rachel and begs her to run away with him. Rachel sees what a wuss he's instantly becomes and tells him to scram. In that scene, too, Don devolves into a whimpering Dick Whitman.

What Season Is It?
Six, folks. We're in season 6. Of a show that the AV Club didn't want to cover in the first place because it was a procedural. Which it is, except we have Hugh Laurie, who can make even the most banal interesting.

Funny, Please.
Since there are obvious parallels between this show and Lost (two cast members, plus the Oceanic ad, plus the same can't-miss-a-week-or-I'm-screw serial), there's something I'd like to point out. They need more funny on this show. The only time I laughed was when the FBI boss lied about being in a

Don't worry about it. The number of times I thought Elizabeth Banks was Parker Posey and vice versa…especially in Spider-Man. She's got one of those familiar faces.
