I'm largely on your side here, I don't care much about Veep's plot machinations, but I think you're doing TTOI a disservice. It is expertly plotted, moreso than Veep (and yet it's so funny that you don't really appreciate how well plotted it is until a second or third viewing), and it has considerably more thematic

didn't spoil a thing for me (thought I maintain a stubborn bafflement at the whole 'spoiler' culture) Still a great episode of a great show and I'm with you about enjoying this one more than BB.

Whiplash was a silly movie

"The World. The world is wrong." could have read a bit nothing-y and like a bit of a thankless line on the page but Stuhlbarg sold it superbly. It was legitimately impressive.

I feel like getting granular with the Curb criticism is kinda pointless. It is altogether a pretty exceptional body of work.

This show is okay but the music is downright exhilarating. It's wonderful seeing an American production where the original soundtrack isn't leaning on harmony like a crutch.

"(Unless that nudie mag was real; I don’t really feel like Googling it.)"

pelle of the pall

"We've had a pretty good innings, Michael"

mango koelsch get the fuck out of my face with that bullshit

"[bland music thing] is getting a vinyl reissue"

Remember when Fahrenheit 9/11 won the palme d'or? good grief

kaseberg means cheese mountain

and you all thought this article was dry.

Janice is seminal

god I love this show so much

"In the rest of the interview, he made a note to separate how cool his “alt-right” team is when compared to traditional conservatism"

'“serving up the news with a sense of humor, outrage and empathy.”'

well, if he's expert at being dull then Dostoevsky will suit him perfectly
