the whole veteran motif this season is interesting, given that in the short story that Justified was based upon, 'Fire in the Hole', Raylan and Boyd both fought in Vietnam together, rather than dug coal together.

These are joyful tidings

Boyd / Ava is a good old fashioned Tragedy waiting to happen, with some good old fashioned foreshadowing to go along with it. Dunno how long it's going to take or precisely how that tragedy will manifest itself but I'll be sad to see either of those characters (well, mainly Boyd) go.
