Not *this* historian.

As a student of military history, I pretty much find all "re-enactment" obscene.
I was once "asked to leave" an American Civil War event for shouting "Why aren't most of you poor bastards shitting yourselves to death with dysentery?"
They felt I wasn't contributing to the "family-friendly" atmosphere of their little

Goebbels job was to make sure they had cool-looking shit, He was a design and marketing genius. This of course throws a rather dark light on modern design and marketing practice…

They all just get up and go to the restroom together. They don't make a big song-and-dance about it.

A chair-lift for decrepit old fuckers, like Mr. Potter had in _It's a Wonderful Life_.

Shame on you, Colonel! Shame and disgrace upon you and your family! My you be banished to The Land of Wind and Ghosts! ;-)
"That's a song, right?" Yeesh! This is *not* Finger Licking Good!

Don't be silly. Angus plays the far more phallic and overcompencatory Gibson SG, for *obvious* reasons.

Ms. San Giancomo could have used a good hose-down. And I think the Dingoes ate her baby or similar.

It's a hoot!. Plus you get to see a beautiful .50 caliber Sharps breechloader and several nice Colt Navies in action. The story is good and the Australian Outback scenery is gorgeous.

He and Booti are taking the Purple Motorcycle out for a spin, knarwharamean?

Bully (many species to near-extinction all over the face of the earth)!

Good thing those Spilsbury Dough Boy ads worked out for him, huh?
I know how the door works…

You keep doing that and it will get stuck that way! Or so I've been told…

Also Alan Rickman Villain! Phwoar!
Ever see _Death Hunt_ with Lee Marvin, Charles Bronson and Carl Weathers? *Awesome*!

Things about McCarthry's prose that bug the fuck out of me:
1. Random capitalization that doesn't serve character, dialogue or
story.
2. Shotgun punctuation "No sir I don't want no part of that, 'lessen I wants me
plenty."
3. Riders of the Purple Portentousness, e.g "War waiting for its Ultimate

Especially in Room 101…

Yasir Youbetcha - Notorious Middle Western Terrorist

Hopes for a quick recovery and much affection, King! I loved DKG's _Lincoln_ (as would any sane, literate human.) I will read _No Ordinary Time_ ASAP_ and possibly take out a personal loan to get _The Bully Pulpit_ and possibly a dolly to haul the god damned thing around with me.
We've reached that dreaded time in

I strongly agree.

On Donna Tartt. I've always found _The Secret History_ to be her weakest novel. Probably because it was her first novel and she was still too much under the sinister influence of Brett Easton Ellis (whom she can write rings around, anyway).
_The Little Friend_ was kind of a homecoming/back-to-her roots thing that kind
