The very original ad copy was "A love story in reverse".

I was guessing "Sons of the Desert" (Laurel and Hardy) but decided that was awfully unlikely, unless, hipsters?  I dunno.

That was not a thought in my head at all, first second or otherwise, but I did assume she was being sarcastic, as in "I'm not here for sex, I'm just borrowing…some..book…yeah."

When Joel was all outraged that "You called the police into our HOME!" like it was the worst thing that could ever happen, I was hoping Victor would answer "The police came to my house twice a month for years, who the fuck are YOU that you're too good for that?"  Or, uh, words to that effect.

There's definitely a Bob Newhart Show to that effect (Emily's mad at Bob).

But he looked genuinely freaked for a second when he heard the shot, then decided to roll with it.  The way I saw it, anyway.  I'd have to rewatch.

Yup.  An Okie roommate of mine was notorious for his Dr. Pepper and Saltines snacking.

I have to admit that I found it unconvincing that Boyd would think, in that moment, that "take care of him" was a clear instruction to cut a guy loose.

Based on the way that scene was shot, there's a fair chance that Nicole Sullivan and Courteney Cox have never met.

Nikita but she's more of an asshole.

At one point I went throught about a half-dozen books-on-tape of Morrell's pulpy non-Rambo espionage-hero books.  Pretty fun.

The family gets its money from Zeek's pot farming.  By implication.

In that white outfit at the very end, she looked like the bald woman from the 1st Star Trek movie.

I love the running joke that everybody knows Matt is DD, but he just refuses to admit it. It reminds me of Megaton Man (which was an outright parody), where everyone knew his secret ID but was just humoring him by not admitting that they knew.

Do you count "Revolution" as SF?

I keep thinking it should have been called "Mob Doctor, M.D."
