I dunno… it depends on what critics are saying is bad about a movie. It's not inconceivable to have a bunch of critics rag on the basic premise of a film and have people who like that premise say that the critics don't know what they're talking about and are not giving it a fair shake.

This is the correct response. The bad reviews are reducing your expectations. Then, when you don't think this is actually as big a car crash as you feared, you will end up enjoying it.

It's also the case his increasingly desperate attempts to find people willing to lend him money would be unlikely to be derailed by people mocking his hands, teeth, skin, 'hair', penis or personality but would be damaged by people suggesting that his many bankruptcies have left him with little actual net assets.
