Fuck that shit. This movie is awesome and doesn't need no goddamn remake.

I like Tyler Perry. I think his films are interesting as hell, though they are not in any way good. Don't equate this with ironically liking them though, since I have a sincere fascination with his twisted (and it is fucking twisted - no one gives him the credit he deserves for being as crazy as he is) vision. Thus, I…
Actually, that doesn't sound too far off of a subplot Pynchon would write.
As fucked up as that whole scene is, the part of it that would have made spit out my beverage, had I been drinking one, was the description that compared it to sucking a black cock.
I got the sense that he's the power behind the throne at Candie LAnd, which is plenty motivation for him to do what he does. I agree it's a disturbing, troubling character, and I know Tarantino and Jackson are well aware of that, but it's also my favorite character in the film.

That project sounds dark as hell and I'd love to see it. Sounds kind of like a black take on To The White Sea (a GREAT novel and the great unmade Coen Bros. film). I'm sure people will charge that it's him retreading familiar ground (and who knows, maybe it will be), but that doesn't sound so much like a revenge flick…

I agree that Brunhilde could been developed more, but I still sexist is an off-base charge. It's a movie about men (Tarantino's first since Pulp Fiction), but it doesn't take any sexist view if women. Brunhilde needs rescuing, but she's not helpless or hapless. She's shown trying to escape twice in the film, once on…

I gotta disagree with the time aspect. Django is far and away his longest movie, but it goes by like a breeze. As far as his indulgences go, length is one I hope he holds onto. I always want to spend more time in Tarantino's universe.

Yeah, but much like PTA, being young and clearly on coke will do that to you.

That's what I said to a friend of mine earlier (before watching motherfucking Django Unchained): "slavery wasn't a Sergio Leone western? The fucking west wasn't a Sergio Leone western!"

Actually, he just went ahead and made that comment on the internet.

Nah, I think at this point even they (being Lee's fans, which include me) want him to chill the fuck out.
