Yeah, coke gives us movies like Phantom of the Paradise and Scarface. Not this. Not this.

They're both white guys of roughly the same age who can play secretive and (presumably) highly intelligent men in classy A-type thrillers directed by art-house filmmakers?

I thought The American started out incredibly strong, but then it just turned into the same 'one last job' assassin story we've all seen a million times before. Still, it looked great and the tone he displayed in it is PERFECT for Le Carre. So I'm in.

blame America for Lee Harvey Oswald. I blame America for George Will.”

We are all aware that he's actually played Rove, right?

I could maybe see a scenario where the cancer is completely gone and he gets busted and is forced to rot in jail. However, in jail he's legendary for what he's done and becomes a kind of prison boss, finally getting the respect and power he's been seeking.

I disagree. For Tony Soprano I can buy this, but not Walter White.

Yeah, considering each of their politics…I don't see that working out well.
