I can't really agree with you here. The movie version of Parenthood is amazing. It's funny as hell but also really hits on some serious topics. It also has the most amazing cast list: Steve Martin, Dianne Wiest, Mary Steenburgen, Martha Plimpton, Jason Robards, Rick Moranis, etc etc.

Agreed - Tara's development this season has been an unexpected delight. If only they had done this sooner. Rutina Wesley has proven to me that it wasn't her acting, it was the writing that made me hate Tara so much. It's nice to see what she can do with more interesting material.

I've always loved the scene between Sakai and G'Kar after he rescues her from Sigma 957. His speech about the ant and how impossible it would be for it to explain to another ant what just happened to it has always moved me. I don't know why - maybe it's my own agnosticism and struggle with defining how I feel about

It's funny, because Na'Toth doesn't get a ton of screen time over the course of the series, and yet there's just something really fetching about her that makes you think she's around more than she actually is.

Exactly. Yes, perhaps there is an element of sexism in some criticism of HBO's
Girls, and sure, it's annoying to hear people harp on how "ugly" Lena
Durham is. But ultimately at the end of the day, maybe people just don't
want to watch a show that is 1) overhyped and 2) seems to be populated
by navel-gazing assholes

I groaned when I realized my joy over her death was crushed by this new development.

Childish behavior aside, I still like that JMS interacts with fans online. It's really interesting to me to see how the creative mind works, or how he justifies the decisions he makes for each episode.

I read somewhere that Andreas actually enjoyed being in full G'Kar mode. It made him feel sexy and powerful. And honestly, if you see what he looks like out of makeup, I get that.

Agreed - the backstory of Delenn and the Earth-Minbari war is a critical part of the narrative, so for that reason alone, this is an important episode. And, as you say, it's a fairly fun plot even when considered as a stand-alone story, which makes it worth watching.

As the reviewer says, the prophetic dream does pay off, as do a lot of hints and signs you get through Season 1. I was astonished at how much more I enjoyed S1 when I watched the series for a second time.

This is a stupid question, but is it fair to assume this is a fake JMS and not the real guy? Normally I'd just assume fake, but JMS seems like the type to really respond to something like this.

I imagine most of the larger budget will go to special effects, since the dragons need to be shown more on screen as the series goes along. It would also be nice to have more extras around, as Dany needs to have more followers than the 20 people they hired this year to tromp around in the desert with her.
