I still think it's reasonable to say that the hate for this episode would not nearly be as vitriolic had Harmon created it. The hyperbole around here is ridiculous.

Even if there have been reasoned critiques, there still seems to an abundance of emotion and bias. People suggesting that this is the worst episode ever are being hysterical and blinded by the love of their martyr. This episode was nontraditional but hardly so terrible, and even if they don't openly say "it sucks

The joke is that the word "hysteria" has sexist origins, and therefore a pun involving that word *and* the fake-word "herstory" would be doubly sexist.

If WB Kids had made a show that subscribed to that word and called it Hersteria!, it would just be sexist.

Yes, because that was the point of this thought experiment: proving that my logic sucks and that I should feel bad.

I agree. More reviews of the new season's episodes need to be undertaken from the hypothetical perspective that Dan Harmon had created it, therefore preventing ad hominem attacks against the new mgmt. Tereglith masterfully analyzes this episode dispassionately, unlike so many critiques that seem to stem from the

Hey guys, I just unlocked the secret clauses to Dan Harmon's Last Will and Testament, and apparently it discloses that he singlehandedly imagined, wrote, directed, and created this episode himself! He was all about the muppets! What do you say to that, now that you know this episode was not a product of the new mgmt,

This is sure a lot of words and rationalization for a show that had a Christmas episode entirely based on being a musical parody of Glee and having characters brainwashed by singing. And with two characters who routinely slipped into an Exploratorium dream world of their imaginations.

Your analysis is wrong because it forgets to mention that Cummunity has always also been not just about whimsy, but also schmaltz. So many NBC comedies that preceded this show was about that combination, from Scrubs to 30 Rock to Parks and Rec, currently the schmaltziest of the schmaltziers. This episode had plenty of

He's the new Creed. And that's just dandy.

Judging from that trailer, the movie is as low-rent as The Room.

John Cho is in it. Justifies a watch.

Wonder Showzen!

Judging by the reactions here, this was the Wonder Showzen of Community episodes. And that is an excellent thing.

The show actually poked fun at its own continuity, it was a very meta- and Community moment in an episode that was full of Community moments. Yet people still aren't satisfied, because they are terrible.

Please let the door hit you on the way out.

Every time an A.V. Club member bitches about new Community, Dan Harmon's involvement with the show becomes a more distant memory, one that will never be reunited. Keep at it, crybabies. They gave you muppets, and the lot of you rejected it. Also, last week's episode wasn't very good.

If you can't enjoy Chang's puppet having his own puppet, brother, well, perhaps Community just isn't for you.

I'm guessing Troy probably burned random wilderness and vacant lots.

He was in a fight club once, but got kicked out.
