If you watched SNL in the early-90's, Spade was funny from late-1992 to mid-1993-or-so.  Every sarcastic talking head on TV owes serious debt to his Hollywood Minute (and nobody's done it better).  He's been really lousy for going on twenty years, however.

I'm with you.  This was officially the year I grew sick of Football season.  Not the games so much (still love watching the Broncos every Sunday), but the hype and the coverage.  Watched about a half-hour of the Super Bowl (only out of curiosity).  I've been waiting for the Baseball season (with its relatively low-key

Not much to say, except I really need to watch The Pledge again.  What a great movie.  It's one of the few post-1980 examples of Jack Nicholson actually trying, and it's brilliant to watch.

When I think of great last-10-minute sketches I always think of the Mouse Trap Seminar (from the brilliant Patrick Swayze episode in the 1990-91 season).

Those Dick Tracy cards really did their job with me.  I collected every worthless one (never ones of any value in the game, wouldn't you know) and begged my parents to see the movie when it came out.  I don't think Dick Tracy would've been on my radar if it weren't for McDonalds.

Loved then.  Probably like now.  I'll have to check it out.

Thanks for the tip; I'll try to hunt it down.

I actually watched Spaceballs before Star Wars, but it totally worked! As a 7-year old kid who saw Star Wars toys every single time he went into Toys R' Us I absolutely loved all the Spaceballs: The Movie promotional tie-ins.
