The strange thing is that Pullman is a really funny comedic actor, just not in Spaceballs (he's hilarious in Ruthless People, for one).  But I agree; how can you lose with golden-age Moranis, Candy, Brooks and Joan Rivers.

Yeah, I appreciate what he was doing with Life Stinks (trying to update Sullivan's Travels for the 90's); I just don't think he did it very well.

Tender Mercies is in my top 10 for sure (definitely my favorite of the 80's).  Once you see it, you realize what a completely unrealistic botch Crazy Heart is (I'm convinced that the folks falling over themselves loving that movie had never seen Tender Mercies).

I would've never thought I'd just stop watching The Amazing Race, but this season I just stopped.  Somewhere like the 5th episode I didn't care anymore.  It's a bit of a relief actually.  Glad to know that those folks won over the other folks; maybe I'll see you next year Amazing Race!
