Vampire Jo was probably the most sympathetic character of the episode. Yes, even more sympathetic than Caroline, who was all sad that Stefan didn't show up for their date. Speaking of, THAT WAS STUPID, TVD. SO STUPID.

Oh, that hadn't even occurred to me! I kept waiting for them to bring up her pregnancy (seems like an important thing to tell a person with amnesia), but nothing was mentioned. I am actually kind of stoked about this idea, because it would at least be something they've never done before.

They really, really need to do a plot where Matt finally turns on Team Mystic Falls.

What was she even for? That actress made the most of her shitty, shitty character and I would have liked to see her join the main cast, which is very short on ladies we actually like right now.

Nothing could convince me that you are not in fact a TVD writer IN DISGUISE.

I also don't remember, because technically he was just releasing her spirit from Elena's body.

Yeah, some of the commenters guessed it would be something like that last week, but whatever. It was good acting from Oscar/Jo.

Pics?

Oh! I totally thought she looked pregnant this season, but didn't care to google it. I do NOT like this development, plot-wise.

TO was very promising, but I'm getting bored with it at this point. Secret vampire clubs? Semi-incestuous vampire sibs? It's just all been done before.

I appreciated her acting in that role a lot more upon the rewatch. I do look forward to seeing her again.

I think the first gay character to appear was that cowboy dude that Isobel compelled to be straight. And Caroline's dad, who was referenced, but not shown until S3.

IIRC, Caroline killed him.

Did it actually air? I meant to watch it.

Right? Bex used to do the wardrobe thing, but that didn't matter as much because it was Bex and therefore inherently more interesting than the Heretics.

I know that one Heretic had the scar, so there was definitely some sort of hunter in the past. It may all be tied to the Gemini coven or something.

Yeah, there's been something very automated about Wesley's performance the past few years. He was fun for a bit at the beginning of S6, but for the most part, he seems bored.

Also, Pearl and Anna were inexplicably living as equals to all the white people in Mystic Falls back in 1864, so it's not like this is the first time the show did something like this.

What's annoying is that Stefan honestly thinks he's the hero and that Damon is the villain, when they're pretty much even, evil-wise. Damon is just self-aware and relatively unrepentant about it, whereas Stefan can justify every murder he commits so long as he repents the ones he can't justify.

My first impression of him is that he is a repeat of the 30-year-old doctor with tenure from season 5 who was such a nothing villain that I forgot his name.
