Not really. It took a bunch of them to overpower Damon and Stefan. When they're transformed, they're supposed to be more powerful, but nobody ever has trouble evading them.

I was SO glad to come across a twist that didn't involve Klaus yelling about why people don't love him enough. I haven't been super engaged in the show this season (I didn't even watch last week's episode), but this makes me think it might actually be building to a decent second season.
