I say Season 10 when Maude gets killed.  Not that she kept the show together with her Maudeness, but because when they kill her by knocking her from a stand with a T-shirt gun, it just felt like some sort of metaphor for how the show was knocked off its own perch.

That's how I learned of it, from the "Florida Man" and "Florida Woman" Twitter feeds.  My now ex-boss is from Florida and the stories that he tells of his home state boggle the mind, making me think our nation's real-life "Springfield Mystery Spot."

As someone who vaguely remembers the 70's (I was born in the mid part), I remember all our appliances having to have some sort of horrid fruit-related color scheme, going from our lemon yellow station wagon to the avocado green oven and our tangerine toaster.  That part I don't miss.
